Full Update on Gail Kim Leaving TNA

by Will Benson on 22nd August 2008

Former Knockouts Champion Gail Kim has parted ways with TNA Wrestling. Several websites are reporting that Gail was in negotiations with TNA management regarding a new contract, however TNA were not prepared guarantee Gail certain clauses in her contract, as well as certain issues with personal appearances. The news came as a shock to the rest of the TNA locker room, as most people assumed it was a lock that she would re-sign with the company. There was no indication at the last set of television tapings that Kim was leaving in that there were no parties, nor was she saying goodbye to other wrestlers.

The attention has now turned to what the future holds for Gail. Earlier today we recieved reports that an offer from World Wrestling Entertainment was on the table. This has now been backed up by reports that Gail met with WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis in Tampa, Fl, earlier today. To further back up these reports, we have also recieved word that WWE have reactivated trademarks they held from Gail’s original time with WWE.

We are told that despite the initial shock from her departure, there is no heat between Gail and TNA. The decision was completley a financial one, and had nothing to do with her feeling unhappy with the company.

Editors Note: While some ‘fans’ of Gails may be unhappy that she has made the decision to leave TNA, it doesn’t take away from the work and effort she displayed in helping TNA create a credible womens division.
