Raw Fusion: Cody’s Moustache

by Firefly on 13th December 2012

The 10th December 2012 episode of Monday Night Raw starts with a video hyping the events over the past few weeks involving Vickie Guerrero, Dolph Ziggler, AJ, and John Cena, Dolph Ziggler kicks off the show standing on top of a ladder in the middle of the ring, underneath his Money In The Bank briefcase.

Dolph Ziggler says that there are six days until the TLC Pay-Per-View and fifteen until Christmas, but that TLC is Christmas for John Cena, as Vince McMahon has forced Ziggler to put his Money In The Bank contract on the line in a Ladder match against Cena.

He says that it isn’t going to be a Merry Christmas for Cena, as he is going to be the proverbial coal in Cena’s stocking, as he will shut Cena up once and for all by beating him, and Ziggler will then give himself the best Christmas present by cashing in his Money In The Bank contract and defeating The Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Sheamus’ music hits and he makes his way to the ring as a video recaps the events of SmackDown! involving Sheamus and The Big Show (click here for our SmackDown! report), where Sheamus congratulates Ziggler on finally being taller than everybody.

He says that Ziggler doesn’t have to worry about cashing in Money In The Bank against Show, as he is going to have to cash it in against Sheamus. Sheamus says that he is going to beat Show in his chairs match at TLC to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, but for Ziggler to face him would mean that Ziggler would have to beat Cena in the Money In The Bank Ladder match, which he doesn’t believe will happen.

Sheamus says that he thinks that it will be himself facing John Cena at some point down the line for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Big Show’s music hits and he makes his way out to the stage, where he mocks Sheamus and Ziggler and calls them delusional.

Show says that he would like nothing better than to smear Sheamus’ face all over the side of his fist, but he’d forfeit his title if he did due to the “no contact” clause that they signed, so he’ll wait until the TLC Pay-Per-View.

He invites Ziggler to attempt to cash in his Money In The Bank contract against him later on in this episode after his match with John Cena, where he says that he will knock Cena out, as he says that he would know Ziggler out too.

Show says that at TLC, he hasn’t made up his mind as to whether he will knock Sheamus out or the pasty white skin off Sheamus’ face with a steel chair. Sheamus talks about throwing Ricardo Rodriguez into Show’s “chestnuts”, and how he would love nothing better than to head up the ramp and fight him right now, but that he’d lose the opportunity to face Show at TLC if he did so.

Sheamus says that just because he can’t do anything to Show, doesn’t mean that he can’t do something to somebody else though, as he turns his attention to Dolph Ziggler who is still standing on top of the ladder, and pushes the ladder over, forcing Ziggler to fall out of the ring and to the floor.

Kofi Kingston and Antonio Cesaro join commentary as Wade Barrett is set to face R-Truth. Before the match takes place however, Vince McMahon makes his way out to the stage, where he apologises for interrupting, but talks about how excited he is for the main event match of this episode of Raw, between The Big Show and John Cena.

He introduces Vickie Guerrero and once again intimidates Vickie Guerrero into making a match between Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler, and one between AJ and Vickie Guerrero herself. The match between Barrett and Truth sees Truth get the victory, when he catches Barrett in a pinning combination for the 3-count.

Afterwards, Truth confronts Cesaro at the announcers’ table, and Kingston hits Barrett with a diving crossbody, after which Truth and Kingston celebrate as they both head back up the ramp.

After an interaction backstage involving AJ and Kaitlyn, and an interaction involving AJ and John Cena, Jimmy and Jey Uso, “Prime Time Players” Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, Primo and Epico (accompanied by Rosa Mendes), and “Team Rhodes Scholars” Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow take on each other in a Fatal Four-Way Elimination Tag Team match which sees Rhodes get the victory for his team, when he hits Jey Uso with Cross-Rhodes for the 3-count.

Next up, Eve Torres is pitted against Alicia Fox in a match which sees Eve get the victory, when she hits Alicia with a snap swing-neckbreaker for the 3-count. Afterwards, Eve invites the ringside photographer into the ring as she poses over the downed Alicia.

Now, CM Punk makes his way out to the stage on crutches with Paul Heyman, where he says that despite what some people are claiming, his injury is real and that his surgery did take place. He says that it is what happens when you work more days than anybody else and are the WWE Champion for 388 gruelling days.

He says that injuries happen and that it is a tough sport, and rolls footage of Ryback attacking him last week, after which Paul Heyman says that the fans are ticking him off by chanting “Feed Me More” at the WWE Champion six days after his surgery.

Heyman says that Punk didn’t have a stunt double like The Rock, but he isn’t complaining but rather standing out there like the great champion that he is. He says that Punk is standing out there unlike The Rock who is apparently too busy, but he says that Punk isn’t going anywhere and will face The Rock for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble.

CM Punk says that as for the vocal minority who think that he should be stripped of the WWE Championship, the notion that he would somehow create a fake injury to hide from Ryback is ridiculous, and he invites someone to come and strip him of the title if they think they can, as nobody else has been able to, and he guarantees that The Rock will also fail at doing so.

He says that unlike others who would be sitting in their bad, icing their knee and hitting the pain pump, he will be at the TLC Pay-Per-View to watch like everyone else, as The Shield – who he says he is not affiliated with – do to Ryback what Ryback did to Punk last week.

Next, Sheamus goes against Dolph Ziggler in a match which sees Sheamus get the victory as a result of a disqualification, when Ziggler bails out of the ring to avoid the Brogue Kick, and hits Sheamus with a steel chair when he comes after him.

Afterwards, Ziggler bails quickly out of the ring and backs off up the ramp, when Sheamus knocks the chair out of his hands with a Brogue Kick.

After an interaction backstage involving Hornswoggle, The Great Khali, Vickie Guerrero, and Vince McMahon, a video recapping The Shield’s attack on “Team Hell No” Kane and Daniel Bryan on SmackDown!, and a repeat of the video of The Shield addressing their match at TLC, Alberto Del Rio takes on “Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder in a match which sees Del Rio get the victory, when he puts Ryder in the cross-armbreaker, forcing him to tap out.

Now, AJ Lee is pitted against Vickie Guerrero, but before the match can take place, it becomes apparent that there is no referee. Brad Maddox appears after a while and slowly heads to the ring, where when the match is officially started, he avoids counting AJ’s pin attempt and Vickie Guerrero gets the victory as he quickly counts the three when she rolls up AJ after taking advantage of her distraction of complaining to Maddox.

Afterwards, AJ throws a tantrum in the ring and around ringside, throwing chairs around, pulling the top off the announcers’ table, pushing over a ladder, and slapping ring announcer Justin Roberts before leaving up the ramp.

After an interaction backstage involving AJ and John Cena, in which he calms her down from continuing her tantrum of throwing things around, Kofi Kingston goes against Antonio Cesaro in a match which sees Cesaro get the victory, when he hits Kingston with the Neutralizer for the 3-count.

Next up, The Miz presents a “Miz TV” segment with his guests “Team Rhodes Scholars” Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, where he insults his guests and claims that Sandow says disparaging things about Rhodes, only for Rhodes to disbelieve it and leave with Sandow as the crowd chant “Cody’s Moustache”.

After an interaction backstage involving AJ and John Cena, Dolph Ziggler joins commentary as John Cena takes on The Big Show in a match which sees Cena get the victory as a result of a disqualification, when The Shield appear and attack Cena.

Their attack on Cena quickly comes to an end when Kane’s pyro and entrance hits, and he and Daniel Bryan make their way to the ring to even up the odds. Ziggler joins the mayhem in the ring, as does The Big Show, and Sheamus’ music hits as he hits the ring and goes after Ziggler due to the “no contact” rule between him and Show.

Cena puts Show through the table that had been set up in the corner by The Shield, but as The Shield continue their attack on Daniel Bryan and Kane once again, Ryback’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring.

Brawling continues between the various men in the ring, as Raw goes off the air.
