Highspots & WWNLive Present WrestleCon, Nikki Storm Headed To Japan

by Firefly on 5th April 2013

WWE‘s WrestleMania weekend – featuring Axxess, the Hall Of Fame Ceremony, and of course WrestleMania 29 itself – is upon us, but it’s not the only thing taking place in New Jersey, as Highspots and WWNLive are presenting the first annual WrestleCon event.

Featuring various US independent promotions such as CHIKARA, Dragon Gate USA, SHIMMER, and more, as well as including appearances from various current and former TNA stars, and former WWE Superstars and Legends, it starts today (5th April) and continues throughout the weekend until ending Sunday evening (7th April).

In other news, Pro Wrestling: EVE have announced that Pro Wrestling: EVE Champion Nikki Storm is headed to Japan for a month tenure (9th April – 5th May), as they have teamed up with Japanese Women Pro-Wrestling Project (JWP) for the third time since November 2012.

EVE’s previous collaborations with JWP have seen Emi Sakura and Kaori Yoneyama come to the UK, and Kay Lee Ray venture to Japan.

Nikki Storm is no stranger to wrestling some of Japan’s finest talents however, as she has previously tangled with Tsukasa Fujimoto, Hikaru Shida, and Emi Sakura herself. The former two were at the EVE vs. Ice Ribbon events in October 2011, whereas encounters with the latter took place in an impromptu Pro Wrestling: EVE Championship match at the November 2012 WrestleFever iPPV that saw Emi Sakura win the title (see below for a video of the match), and on 2nd February in Preston, Lancashire, UK at No Man’s Land 2 when Nikki Storm won it back.
