PPV Fusion: WrestleMania XXX
The WWE WrestleMania XXX (30) Pay-Per-View starts with a video recapping clips of the past thirty years of WrestleMania and hyping the events to come on this one, followed by Justin Roberts introducing the host of this year’s WrestleMania, WWE Hall Of Famer “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan.
Hogan talks about the first WrestleMania and how he can’t believe that he is hosting the thirtieth all these years later. A chant from the fans quickly point out his error when he says that he is in the “Silverdome” rather than the “Superdome”, but he accepts the correction and says that it is another “WrestleMania Moment”.
He says that there are sure to be many more “WrestleMania Moments” to come, and that you never know when they might happen – which is fitting, as he is promptly interrupted by the sound of glass shattering, and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin making his way to the ring.
Austin shows appreciation for Hogan and talks about how much they have both given to the business, as well as how many others will be doing the same on this night, but after reminding the crowd that “Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!”, The Rock’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring too.
The Rock shows his respect for both men and also talks about how the three of them have done it all, as well as hype WrestleMania even further, before finishing with his “If ya smell” catchphrase, which is quickly followed by Austin’s “Bottom line” catchphrase and Hogan’s “Running wild” catchphrase before the three of them share some beers in the ring.
After a video highlighting clips of Daniel Bryan’s start in the WWE on NXT, and the events involving him and Triple H that led to the upcoming match, Triple H (accompanied and announced by Stephanie McMahon) takes on Daniel Bryan in a match which will see the winner progress to be the third man in the Triple Threat match later in the night.
The match sees Bryan get the victory, when he hits Triple H with a running-knee to the head for the three-count. Afterwards, Stephanie slaps Bryan a number of times and Triple H then attacks him, in an obvious attempt to lessen his chances in the later Triple Threat match even further.
Next, “The Shield” Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are pitted against Kane and “The New Age Outlaws” Road Dogg and Billy Gunn in a Six-Man Tag Team match, which sees Rollins get the victory for his team when the three hit Road Dogg and Billy Gunn with double triple-powerbomb.
After an interaction backstage involving WWE Hall Of Famers Sgt. Slaughter, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, and Ron Simmons, thirty men take part in the over-the-top-rope Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
The match sees Cesaro get the victory, when he wriggles out of The Big Show’s attempt to eliminate him and hits Show with a European uppercut that he follows up with a body slam over the top rope.
After a video recapping the events involving John Cena and Bray Wyatt that led to the upcoming match, John Cena goes against Bray Wyatt (accompanied by Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, with his theme music being played live) in a match which prompts a “that was creepy” chant from the crowd at one point.
The match sees Cena get the victory, when he counters Wyatt’s Sister Abigail attempt and instead hits him with an Attitude Adjustment for the 3-count.
After a video recapping the 2014 WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony, the presentation of the inductees to the WrestleMania crowd, and a video recapping The Undertaker’s Streak to date as well as what led to his upcoming match with Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker takes on Brock Lesnar (accompanied by Paul Heyman).
The match sees shock erupt throughout the WrestleMania crowd and Heyman himself, when Lesnar hits The Undertaker with the third F-5 of the match, allowing him to get the 3-count and end the Streak.
Afterwards, The Undertaker is shown respect from the crowd and all those at ringside with a standing ovation, as he slowly gets up and leaves.
Next, AJ Lee, Cameron, Naomi, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Natalya, Alicia Fox, Layla, Eva Marie, Emma, Summer Rae, Aksana, Rosa Mendes, and Tamina face each other in the Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational match, where the first to score a pinfall or submission on any other will be determined the Divas Champion.
AJ Lee retains her title, when she locks in the Black Widow on Naomi and the referee sees Naomi tapping out – it is not without controversy however, as the tapping is a result of AJ taking advantage of the referee’s obstructed view by physically grabbing Naomi’s arm to force the motion.
After an interaction backstage involving “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, “Mr Wonderful” Paul Orndorff, Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, and “Mean” Gene Okerlund, and Justin Roberts pointing out the WWE Hall Of Famers seated at ringside, Randy Orton (with his theme music being played live), Batista, and Daniel Bryan are pitted against each other for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
The match sees Bryan get the victory to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, despite attempted interference by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, when Batista hits Randy Orton with a Batista-bomb and Bryan immediately follows it up with a running-knee to the head of Batista for the 3-count.
Afterwards, Bryan celebrates in and around the ring with the crowd chanting and cheering, while ticker-tape rains down and pyro goes off to complement it, as WrestleMania goes off the air.
