PPV Fusion: Fastlane 2015
The 2015 WWE Fastlane Pay-Per-View starts with a video hyping some of the matches to take place later in the night, followed by a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match and Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback taking on Seth Rollins, Kane and The Big Show in a Six-Man Tag Team match to kick things off.
The match sees Kane get the victory for his team, when The Big Show hits Ziggler with a KO Punch out of the referee’s view in the corner and Kane follows it up by pushing Ziggler to the mat for the 3-count.
Afterwards, Rollins, Kane and Show continue attacking their opponents until Randy Orton’s music hits and he hits the ring to hand out as many RKOs as he can, prompting Rollins to run out of the arena as quickly and far as possible.
After a video hyping that WrestleMania is 35 days away, with the announcers also hyping that it will be on 29th March, a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, and an interaction backstage involving Goldust and “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Goldust is pitted against Stardust in a match.
The match sees Goldust get the victory, when he counters Stardust’s Cross-Rhodes attempt and catches him in a pin for the apparent 3-count, though there is slight confusion as it seems that the referee doesn’t actually slap the mat three times, yet still calls for the bell to signal the successful count.
After an interaction backstage involving Dusty Rhodes, Goldust and Stardust, “The Usos” Jimmy and Jey Uso (accompanied by Naomi) go against Cesaro and Tyson Kidd (accompanied by Natalya) in a match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
The match sees Kidd get the victory for his team to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions, when he hits a swinging fisherman suplex for the 3-count.
After a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming confrontation, Triple H and Sting have a face-to-face which sees Sting point to the WrestleMania sign and Triple H nod to the unspoken demand, and Triple H left downed after a shot from Sting’s baseball bat.
After a video recapping the events of MizTV on the Fastlane Kickoff (Pre-Show) and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Paige takes on Nikki Bella (accompanied by twin sister Brie) in a match for the Divas Championship.
The match sees Nikki get the victory and retain her title, after rolling Paige up for the 3-count (and with the aid of a handful of tights according to the announcers).
After a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Dean Ambrose is pitted against Bad News Barrett in a match for the Intercontinental Championship.
The match sees Barrett get the victory and retain his title, when Ambrose ignores the referee’s demands to let up on his corner attack, prompting the referee to call for the bell to disqualify him. Afterwards, Ambrose continues his attack and then grabs the title before taking it with him as he leaves.
Next, the Druid music associated with The Undertaker is heard and some Druids come out and arrange themselves opposite each other with fire held aloft, as The Undertaker’s music hits and more druids come out and wheel a casket to the ring. The casket opens to reveal Bray Wyatt, who says that he will “claim the soul of The Undertaker” at WrestleMania.
After checking in with the Fastlane Panel (comprised of Renee Young, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, Byron Saxton and Corey Graves), and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Rusev (accompanied by Lana) goes against John Cena in a match for the United States Championship.
The match sees Rusev get the victory and retain his title, when he takes advantage of the referee being distracted by Lana, as he hits Cena with a low blow and kick to the head and applies The Accolade, prompting the referee to call for the bell and declare Rusev the winner as Cena is clearly unconscious.
After checking in with the Fastlane Panel again, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Daniel Bryan takes on Roman Reigns in a match to determine who will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.
The match sees Reigns get the victory, when he hits Bryan with a Spear for the 3-count. Afterwards, Bryan tells Reigns that he better beat Lesnar and both men shake hands in a show of respect.
The announcers hype the WrestleMania matches of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, and the match between Triple H and Sting, with Reigns continuing to celebrate as the PPV goes off the air.
