PPV Fusion: Elimination Chamber 2015

by Firefly on 1st June 2015

The 2015 WWE Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View (exclusive to WWE Network) starts with a video hyping the Elimination Chamber match concept along with the matches to take place later in the night, followed by the first WWE Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber match to kick things off.

“Prime Time Players” Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, “Los Matadores” Diego and Fernando (accompanied by El Torito who comes inside the Chamber and perches on top of the pod), Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (accompanied by Natalya) and “The New Day” Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods are the teams starting out in the pods.

“The Ascension” Konnor and Viktor and “Lucha Dragons” Kallisto and Sin Cara are the two teams starting things off in the ring, with The New Day getting the victory and retaining their titles when they use the numbers advantage to overwhelm O’Neil and hit him with Trouble In Paradise and all pile on to get the 3-count.

After a video recapping Dolph Ziggler’s Money In The Bank victory and subsequent cash-in nine months later on Alberto Del Rio to hype the next WWE Pay-Per-View, Money In The Bank on 14th June, a video recaps Rusev fracturing his foot on SmackDown and we are given the news that he is not cleared to compete in the Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber match as a result of that injury, so will be replaced.

After an interaction backstage involving Lana and Dolph Ziggler, Nikki Bella, Naomi and Paige take each other on in a Triple Threat match for the Divas Championship. The match sees Nikki get the victory and retain her title, when she hits Naomi with the Rack Attack for the 3-count.

After a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Kevin Owens is pitted against John Cena in a non-title Champion vs. Champion (NXT Champion vs. United States Champion) match which sees Owens get the victory when he hits Cena with a Popup Powerbomb for the 3-count.

Afterwards, Owens says that everyone now knows who Kevin Owens is and that he not only started a fight with John Cena, but he also finished it. He says that now that he has beaten Cena, he has some veteran advice for him. Kevin Owens says that Cena’s time is long over and Owens’ time is now – because “the champ is here”.

After checking in with the Elimination Chamber Panel (comprised of Renee Young, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton) on their thoughts of the matches so far and still to come, Bo Dallas goes against Neville in a match which sees Neville get the victory, when he hits Dallas with the Red Arrow for the 3-count.

After an interaction backstage involving Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Triple H, and a video recapping Daniel Bryan relinquishing the Intercontinental Championship three weeks ago on Monday Night Raw, Daniel Bryan sits at ringside to watch the Elimination Chamber match for the vacant Intercontinental Championship.

Mark Henry is revealed as Rusev’s replacement, starting out in one of the pods as with Sheamus, R-Truth and Ryback. King Barrett and Dolph Ziggler are the two who start things off in the ring, with Ryback getting the victory when he hits Sheamus with a powerbomb into the ring from the steel floor of the Chamber and follows it up with a ShellShock for the 3-count to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

Afterwards, Daniel Bryan says he thinks Ryback deserves the Intercontinental Championship and the crowd agrees with him, and Ryback shows his appreciation for Bryain in return.

After a video hyping the return of the Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network, immediately following the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw and with Paul Heyman as the guest, another video hyping the upcoming Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View, and a video recapping Kevin Owens’ victory over John Cena, we learn that John Cena and Kevin Owens will face each other in a rematch at Money In The Bank.

We also learn that Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston and Sheamus will be six of the participants in the Money In The Bank Ladder match that will take place there too.

After a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Dean Ambrose takes on Seth Rollins (accompanied by Kane along with “J&J Security” Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury) in a match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The match sees the referee get taken out by a diving knee from Ambrose when Rollins grabs him and shoves him in the way, but Ambrose gets the victory when he hits Rollins with Dirty Deeds for the 3-count from a second referee to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Unfortunately for Dean Ambrose however, his celebration is cut short when the original referee speaks with the second, which leads the second to speak to Lilian Garcia, at which point we are told that Ambrose did indeed win, however it was instead as a result of a disqualification and thus Seth Rollins is still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Rollins is very happy at the announcement, but Ambrose is much less so as he refuses to relinquish the title belt to the referees so that they can return it to Rollins. Kane, Jamie Noble, Joey Mercury and Seth Rollins start to attack Dean Ambrose until Roman Reigns’ music hits and he hits the ring to make the save.

Dean Ambrose says that as he won the match, he is taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship with him, as he exits through the crowd with Roman Reigns, celebrating with them while a furious Seth Rollins looks on from the ring as Elimination Chamber goes off the air.
