PPV Fusion: Fastlane 2016

The 2016 WWE Fastlane Pay-Per-View starts with a video hyping the Triple Threat match between Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar to come later on in the night, followed by a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match as Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch taking on Naomi and Tamina in a Tag Team match.

The match sees Sasha get the victory for her team, when she applies the Bank Statement to Tamina and leaves her with no other option but to tap out.

After a video hyping WrestleMania 32 being in forty-two (42) days, a video recapping the Fatal 5-Way match on Monday Night Raw which saw Kevin Owens become the new Intercontinental Champion, Kevin Owens is pitted against Dolph Ziggler in a match for the Intercontinental Championship.

The match sees Kevin Owens get the victory and retain his title, when he hits Dolph Ziggler with a Popup Powerbomb for the 3-count.

After a video hyping the Edge and Christian Show which is set to air on the WWE Network immediately following Fastlane, and an interaction backstage involving The Big Show, Ryback and Kane, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, “The Wyatt Family” Braun Strowman, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan (accompanied by Bray Wyatt) go against The Big Show, Ryback and Kane in a Six-Man Tag Team match.

The match sees Ryback get the victory for his team, when he hits Harper with a ShellShock for the 3-count.

After a video promoting the new design of WWE.com, and Jojo interviews Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose about the Triple Threat match to take place later on in the night, and a video recapping Daniel Bryan’s retirement and the events that led to the upcoming match, Brie Bella takes on Charlotte (accompanied by Ric Flair) in a match for the Divas Championship.

The match sees Charlotte get the victory and retain her title, when she applies the Figure-Eight Leg Lock to Brie and leaves her with no other option but to tap out.

After repeating the video hyping WrestleMania 32, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, and Jojo interviews Chris Jericho about the upcoming match, AJ Styles is pitted against Chris Jericho in a match which sees Styles get the victory, when he applies the Calf Crusher to Jericho and leaves him with no other option but to tap out.

Afterwards, Jericho pulls Styles down from the turnbuckle during the celebration, but when it looks like they are going to end up fighting again, Jericho extends his hand towards Styles in a sign of respect which Styles returns as he shakes it.

After checking in with the Fastlane Panel (comprised of Renee Young, Corey Graves, and WWE Hall of Famers Booker T and Jerry “The King” Lawler) about the matches that have happened so far and still to come, a video recaps the 2-Out-Of-3 Falls match between Kalisto and Alberto Del Rio on the Kickoff (Pre-Show) which saw Kalisto retain his title.

After a video recapping “The New Day” Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston talking about how they would embarrass Edge and Christian, a segment sees Edge and Christian present “The Cutting Edge Peep Show” with their guests The New Day, but when the “League of Nations” King Barrett, Rusev, Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus interrupt, The New Day say that while they would like nothing more to engage in fisticuffs, it’s a day of rest so they then leave.

Edge and Christian end up leaving the ring and dubbing the League of Nations the “International House of Dumbasses”, while The New Day dance around after “turning the other cheek” towards the League, ending with Woods on the trombone and both Edge and Christian chanting “Watch our show” to the “New Day Rocks” rhythm.

After a video hyping shows to come on the WWE Network, Curtis Axel (accompanied by fellow “Social Outcast” members Heath Slater, Adam Rose and Bo Dallas) goes against R-Truth in a match which sees Axel get the victory when he takes advantage of the distraction provided by Goldust throwing Rose into the ring, as he rolls up Truth for the 3-count.

After a video hyping the collections of content available on the WWE Network and hyping the announcement of the Vincent J McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award recipient being announced on the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar (accompanied by Paul Heyman) face each other in a Triple Threat match to determine who will face Triple H at WrestleMania 32 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

After the Lilian Garcia’s introductions of Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman does his own introduction for Brock Lesnar. The match sees Reigns get the victory, when he hits Ambrose with a spear for the 3-count.

Afterwards, Reigns celebrates in the ring as pyro goes off in Royal Rumble style, until Triple H’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring and stands across the ring from Reigns as Fastlane goes off the air.
