WWE Suspends Eva Marie

by Firefly on 18th August 2016

WWE have announced on WWE.com that they have suspended Eva Marie for violating the WWE Wellness Policy, with it lasting for thirty days as a result of being her first violation.

Eva Marie becomes the second female wrestler to violate the WWE Wellness Policy, hot on the heels of Paige who was the first (and whose suspension was announced yesterday).

In addition, Eva Marie was originally scheduled to be in a Six-Woman Tag Team match at SummerSlam alongside Alexa Bliss and Natalya to take on the team of Becky Lynch, Carmella and Naomi, so as a result she has been removed from that match and it remains to be seen as to what the match will become from here.

Possibilities that I can think of include a 3-on-2 Handicap match, a regular Tag Team match with the opposing team being accompanied by their third member, or another female being tapped (perhaps as another one night only call-up from NXT) to replace her in the match.

Update (22nd August): Eva Marie has since addressed the suspension in an Instagram post, stating that her violation was as a result of not returning paperwork in the time-frame of what was considered by WWE Medical Staff to be a timely manner.
