PPV Fusion: No Mercy 2016
The 2016 WWE No Mercy Pay-Per-View starts with a video hyping the matches to take place later on in the night, followed by a video recapping the events involving John Cena, Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles that led to the upcoming match, and John Cena, Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles facing each other in a Triple Threat match for the WWE World Championship to kick things off.
The match sees Styles get the victory and retain his title, when he hits Cena with a steel chair and covers him for the 3-count.
After a video hyping the next Raw-exclusive Pay-Per-View, Hell In A Cell on 30th October, and a video recapping the events involving Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt that led to the match to take place later on in the night, a video recapping the events involving Nikki Bella and Carmella that led to the upcoming match, and the announcers informing us that the scheduled SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss will not take place due to an injury to Becky Lynch, but that Alexa Bliss will still be in action against a different opponent, Nikki Bella and Carmella take each other on in a match which sees Nikki get the victory when she hits Carmella with a fireman’s carry cutter (which Mauro Ranallo informs us is now called the Rack Attack 2.0) for the 3-count.
After an interaction backstage involving Daniel Bryan, Shane McMahon, The Miz and Maryse, and a video recapping the events involving the team of Heath Slater and Rhyno and The Usos that led to the upcoming match, “The Usos” Jimmy and Jey are pitted against Heath Slater and Rhyno in a match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, which sees Rhyno get the victory for his team to retain the titles, when he hits Jey Uso with a Gore for the 3-count.
After a video hyping the upcoming release of WWE 2K16 on PS3, PS4, XBOX 360 and XBOX One consoles, a brief interlude involving Bray Wyatt, and a video recapping the events involving Jack Swagger and Baron Corbin that led to the upcoming match, Jack Swagger goes against Baron Corbin in a match which sees Corbin get the victory, when he hits Swagger with a poke to the eye out of the view of the referee and follows it up with the End of Days for the 3-count.
After a video recapping the events involving The Miz and Dolph Ziggler that led to the upcoming match, The Miz (accompanied by Maryse) takes on Dolph Ziggler in a match for the Intercontinental Championship which also has the added stipulation that Ziggler’s career is over if he loses.
The match sees Ziggler get the victory, when he takes advantage of the distraction provided by the referee ejecting Maryse and former “Spirit Squad” members Kenny and Mikey from ringside, and hits The Miz with a superkick for the 3-count to become the new Intercontinental Champion and keep his career going.
After checking in with the No Mercy Panel (comprised of Renee Young and WWE Hall of Famers Booker T, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Lita) for their thoughts on the matches so far and yet to take place, a video recapping Curt Hawkins’ announcement on the Kickoff (Pre-Show) that he will have his first match on the upcoming episode of SmackDown, and a video recapping the Kickoff match between the team of “American Alpha” Chad Gable and Jason Jordan and the team of “The Vaudevillains” Aiden English and Simon Gotch which American Alpha won, Alexa Bliss is pitted against Naomi in a match which sees Naomi get the victory when she counters Alexa Bliss’ cross-armbreaker submission into a pin for the 3-count.
After video, graphics and the voice of Michael Cole hyping the matches to take place on the next Raw-exclusive Pay-Per-View, Hell In A Cell on 30th October, and a video recapping the events involving Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt that led to the upcoming match, Bray Wyatt goes against Randy Orton in a match which sees Wyatt get the victory, when he takes advantage of the distraction provided by the appearance of Luke Harper and hits Orton with Sister Abigail for the 3-count.
