PPV Fusion: Survivor Series 2016

by Firefly on 21st November 2016

The 2016 WWE Survivor Series Pay-Per-View starts with a video hyping the matches to take place later on in the night, followed by Team Raw (comprised of Bayley, Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks and Charlotte, accompanied by Dana Brooke) taking on Team SmackDown (comprised of Becky Lynch, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Carmella and Natalya – the final person replacing Nikki Bella who has apparently been attacked backstage) in a 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Women’s Elimination match.

The match sees Bayley get the victory for Team Raw (with Charlotte being the other Survivor of the team still remaining), when she hits Becky Lynch with the Bayley-to-Belly for the 3-count. Afterwards, the celebration is cut quickly short when Charlotte attacks Bayley.

After a video promoting WWE 2K17 and the in-game rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg, a video promoting WWE Story Time which is set to air on WWE Network immediately following Survivor Series, a backstage interaction involving James Ellsworth, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Mick Foley (with a cameo at the end from Braun Strowman wondering if he knows Ellsworth), and a video recapping the match on SmackDown between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship, SmackDown’s The Miz (accompanied by Maryse) is pitted against Raw’s Sami Zayn in a match for the Intercontinental Championship.

The match sees The Miz get the victory and retain his title, when he takes advantage of Zayn being distracted by Maryse ringing the bell and rolls him up for the 3-count.

Next, Team Raw (comprised of Enzo Amore and Big Cass, “Shining Stars” Primo and Epico, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Sheamus and Cesaro and “The New Day” Big E and Kofi Kingston – the final team accompanied by third member, Xavier Woods) goes against Team SmackDown (comprised of Heath Slater and Rhyno, “Breezango” Tyler Breeze and Fandango, “The Usos” Jimmy and Jey, “Hype Bros” Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder and “American Alpha” Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) in a 10-on-10 Traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Elimination match.

The match sees Cesaro get the victory for Team Raw (and his team with Sheamus being the sole Survivors remaining), when he fights out of Jey Uso’s Tequila Sunrise and reverses it into a Sharpshooter, leaving Jey Uso with no other option but to tap out.

After a backstage interaction involving Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley, a video hyping the upcoming release of Disney animated movie “Moana” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a video hyping the next SmackDown-exclusive Pay-Per-View, TLC in two weeks, and a video hyping the upcoming Cruiserweight match, Brian Kendrick takes on Kalisto in a match for the Cruiserweight Championship with the added stipulation that if Kalisto wins, the entire Cruiserweight Division moves to SmackDown too.

The match sees Kendrick get the victory and retain his title as well as the Division’s place on Raw, when Baron Corbin attacks Kendrick from behind in full view of the referee, causing the referee to call for the bell to signify a disqualification. Corbin does not stop there however, as he catches Kalisto mid-dive and hits him with the End of Days before exiting the ring once again.

After checking in with the Survivor Series Panel (comprised of Renee Young and WWE Hall of Famers Booker T, Lita and Jerry “The King” Lawler) on their thoughts of the matches so far and yet to come, and backstage interaction involving Daniel Bryan and Baron Corbin, a video hyping the next Raw-exclusive Pay-Per-View, Roadblock: End of the Line on 18th December, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Team SmackDown (comprised of Shane McMahon, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose – accompanied by official team mascot, James Ellsworth) is pitted against Team Raw (comprised of Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens) in a 5-on-5 Survivor Series Men’s Elimination match.

The match sees Wyatt get the victory for Team SmackDown (with Randy Orton being the other Survivor of the team still remaining), when Orton pushes him out of the way of the spear from Reigns and he follows it up by hitting Reigns with Sister Abigail for the 3-count.

After a video promoting the WWE Network, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Brock Lesnar (accompanied by Paul Heyman) goes against Goldberg in a match which sees Goldberg get the victory in a quick and dominating fashion, when he hits Lesnar with two spears and a Jackhammer for the 3-count.

Goldberg exits up the ramp, as Survivor Series goes off the air.
