PPV Fusion: Backlash 2017

The 2017 WWE Backlash Pay-Per-View starts with a video hyping the matches to take place during the night, followed by Dolph Ziggler taking on Shinsuke Nakamura in a match to kick things off.

The match sees Nakamura get the victory, when he hits Ziggler with the Kinshasa (running knee to the head) for the 3-count.

After a video hyping the next WWE Pay-Per-View, the Raw-exclusive Extreme Rules in two weeks, and a repeat of the “Fashion Files” video from the most recent episode of SmackDown, “Breezango” Tyler Breeze and Fandango are pitted against “The Usos” Jimmy and Jey in a match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

The match sees Jey Uso get the victory for his team to retain the titles, when Jimmy holds onto Fandango’s foot when he is on the turnbuckle, which allows Jey to hit Fandango with a superkick for the 3-count.

After a video promoting the WWE Network and all the content available on it, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Sami Zayn goes against Baron Corbin in a match which sees Zayn get the victory, when he hits Corbin with a Helluva Kick for the 3-count.

After a video promoting Rocket League, with clips from Xavier Woods’ YouTube Show Up Up Down Down, and the backstage arrival and interview of Jinder Mahal about his upcoming match, the “Welcoming Committee” Carmella (introduced by James Ellsworth), Tamina and Natalya take on Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Naomi in a Six-Woman Tag Team match.

The match sees Natalya get the victory for her team, when she applies the Sharpshooter to Becky and leaves her with no other option but to tap out.

After a video promoting WWE Shop, another video promoting Rocket League, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, AJ Styles is pitted against Kevin Owens in a match for the United States Championship.

The match sees Owens get the victory and retain his title, when Styles’ leg gets caught in a hole in the announcers’ table, with Owens returning into the ring in time as the referee reaches the count of ten to count Styles out.

Afterwards, Kevin Owens adds insult to injury with a kick to he head before leaving, and soon after AJ Styles is helped to walk up the ramp by referees.

After a video recapping the Kickoff (Pre-Show) match between Tye Dillinger and Aiden English, which saw Dillinger get the victory when he hit English with a Tye-breaker for the 3-count, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Luke Harper goes against Erick Rowan in a match which sees Harper get the victory, when he hits Rowan with a discus clothesline for the 3-count.

After a repeat of the video hyping Extreme Rules, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Jinder Mahal (accompanied by The Singh Brothers) goes against Randy Orton in a match for the WWE Championship.

The match sees Mahal get the victory, when he takes advantage of Randy Orton still being distracted by the aftermath of his rope-drape double DDT to The Singh Brothers, and hits Orton with the Khallas (Cobra clutch slam) for the 3-count to become the new WWE Champion.

Afterwards, Jinder Mahal celebrates as Backlash goes off the air.
