by Firefly on 5th June 2017

The 2017 WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View starts with a video hyping the matches to take place during the night, followed by The Miz (accompanied by Maryse) taking on Dean Ambrose in a match for the Intercontinental Championship – which has the added stipulation that if Ambrose gets disqualified, he loses the title – to kick things off.

The match sees The Miz get the victory, when he takes advantage of the distraction caused by Ambrose trying to explain to the referee that The Miz pushed him into the referee rather than him doing it himself, and hits Ambrose with the Skull-Crushing Finale for the 3-count to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

After a video hyping the next WWE Pay-Per-View, the SmackDown-exclusive Money In The Bank in two weeks, a backstage interview with Bayley on her upcoming match, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Noam Dar and Alicia Fox are pitted against Rich Swann and Sasha Banks in a Mixed Tag Team match.

The match sees Swann get the victory for his team, when he hits Dar with the Phoenix Splash for the 3-count.

After Elias Sampson sings a song, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Bayley goes against Alexa Bliss in a Kendo Stick on a pole match for the Raw Women’s Championship.

The match sees Bliss get the victory and retain her title, when she hits Bayley with the Kendo Stick and follows it up with a DDT for the 3-count.

After a repeat of the video hyping Money In The Bank, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Sheamus and Cesaro take on “The Hardy Boyz” Matt and Jeff Hardy in a Steel Cage match for the Raw Tag Team Championship.

The match sees Sheamus and Cesaro get the victory, when they hit the floor to successfully escape the cage before The Hardy Boyz, to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions.

After a video promoting the WWE Network and all the content available on it, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Austin Aries is pitted against Neville in a Submission match for the Cruiserweight Championship.

The match sees Neville get the victory and retain his title, when he hits Aries with a Red Arrow and follows it up by applying the Rings of Saturn and leaving Aries with no other option but to tap out.

After a video hyping the next Raw-exclusive WWE Pay-Per-View, Great Balls of Fire on the 9th July, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, Finn Bálor and Roman Reigns face each other in an Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way match to determine the #1 Contender to face Brock Lesnar in a match for the WWE Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire.

The match sees Samoa Joe get the victory, when he interrupts Bálor’s pinfall attempt on Reigns and applies the Coquina Clutch to Bálor, prompting the referee to call for the bell when it becomes clear that Bálor has passed out.
