by Firefly on 26th February 2018

The 2018 WWE Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View starts with a video hyping the matches to take place during the night, followed by a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match and before Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Mickie James, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville and Bayley (with the latter two as the starters) face each other for the Raw Women’s Championship in the first ever Women’s Elimination Chamber match.

The match sees Bliss get the victory and retain her title, when she hits Banks with a DDT from the top rope for the 3-count. Afterwards, she is interviewed in the ring, where she states that it shows that anyone can achieve their dreams, but comments that the crowd probably won’t achieve anything.

After a video promoting some of the content available on the WWE Network, “Titus Worldwide” Apollo Crews and Titus O’Neil (accompanied by Dana Brooke) takes on Cesaro and Sheamus in a match for the Raw Tag Team Championship.

The match sees Cesaro get the victory for his team and retain the titles, when he and Sheamus hit Crews with a double team move for the 3-count.

After a video hyping the Andre The Giant documentary which is set to air on 10th April on HBO, and a video recapping Asuka’s accomplishments to date and recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Nia Jax is pitted against Asuka in a match which sees Asuka get the victory, when she counters Jax’s apparent powerbomb attempt into a victory roll for the 3-count.

Afterwards, Asuka only has a moment to celebrate before she is attacked by Jax, knocking her down from behind, throwing her out of the ring, into the ring post, and finally blasting her through the barricade.

After a backstage interview with Alexa Bliss on the events she just watched, in which she says that she is happy at Nia Jax’s actions and commenting that “nobody, not even Asuka is ready for Alexa,” and Asuka is helped to leave the ring by referees, a backstage interview with Roman Reigns sees Reigns declare that he will win the Men’s Elimination Chamber match and go to WrestleMania.

After a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, “Woken” Matt Hardy goes against Bray Wyatt in a match which sees Hardy get the victory, when he hits Wyatt with a Twist of Fate for the 3-count.

After a video hyping the next WWE Pay-Per-View, the SmackDown-exclusive Fastlane in two weeks, and a video recapping the WWE signing and Royal Rumble appearance of former UFC star Ronda Rousey, Raw General Manager makes his way to the ring, followed by WWE COO Triple H and Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon for Ronda Rousey’s Raw contract signing.

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H hype Ronda Rousey as perhaps the greatest signing since Kurt Angle, before Triple H introduces “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey and she once again makes her way to the ring to “Bad Reputation.”

Rousey credits “Rowdy” Roddy Piper as the reason she made it to the WWE, and comments that she especially appreciates being in the same ring as Kurt Angle. Regarding the contract, Triple H points out that Ronda Rousey didn’t want any special perks or anything other than an invite to WrestleMania, and double-checks she was sure about that, to which Rousey states that she doesn’t want to be treated any differently from anyone else.

Triple H says that Rousey will have not only an invite to WrestleMania, but that as soon as she signs the contract she’ll also have a match there too, albeit not for a title, to which Rousey states that she would want to earn any title match rather than being given one.

Before Rousey signs however, she seems to notice that Kurt Angle has some sort of problem with what is happening, so she asks him if he has anything to say. Angle says that he is in awe of Triple H and Stephanie and talks about how they have been talking about signing her since he joined as Raw General Manager, and he states that it is because they wanted to do so to manipulate her due to her actions at WrestleMania 31, also suggesting that Triple H commented earlier “three years in the making and we own the bitch.”

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon pass Kurt Angle’s comments off as him being ill and thus delusional, but after Stephanie says that despite indeed embarrassing them at WrestleMania 31, she also impressed them, Angle interjects once again and suggests that Stephanie called Ronda Rousey a has-been and suggested that even she could take her.

After Triple H manages to back an angry Rousey away from Stephanie McMahon, and they appear to start to leave, he approaches Rousey only for her to grab him and throw him through the table. Stephanie slaps her for that and yells at her, only for her yelling to be halted abruptly when she sees Rousey’s angry look once again, which prompts her to quickly exit the ring.

Ronda Rousey picks up the contract from the prone Triple H and signs it before she drops it back on him and leaves.

After a video hyping that WrestleMania 34 is forty-two days away, a video hyping WWE Mixed Match Challenge which airs exclusively on Facebook Watch, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Elias, Braun Strowman, John Cena, Roman Reigns, The Miz, Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor (with the latter three as the starters) in an Elimination Chamber match to determine who will face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

The match sees Reigns get the victory, when he hits Strowman with two consecutive spears for the 3-count.

Afterwards, Reigns celebrates in the ring for a short while as the match is recapped, before Strowman attacks him and hits him with two consecutive running powerslams, followed by sending him through the glass of into one of the pods.

Braun Strowman leaves, while the downed Roman Reigns tries to recover, as Elimination Chamber goes off the air.
