According to a source, Rey Mysterio is close to re-signing with WWE or has already done so. His signing was described as “imminent” last week. Mysterio was negotiating for a new three-year deal with WWE, but they countered it with a five-year offer. Mysterio has been in serious discussions for Mexico’s AAA promotion, which included a three-movie deal as part of their offer. Their idea was to make Mysterio the modern day version of El Santo. He has made it known to WWE officials that he wants to be considered for all WWE Films movie roles.
