WWE.com Gets A Facelift, IWF March 26th 2011 Results

by Firefly on 27th March 2011

One week away from WrestleMania XXVII has seen WWE.com get a facelift. Though I personally am not a fan of the new look, assuming that the old look was powered by a custom system, I would suspect that it is easier to manage now as judging from the page source they appear to be using Drupal.

The Independent Wrestling Federation (IWF) held their March Madness Live Event last night at the IWF Centre in Woodland Park, New Jersey, USA, and the results are as follows:

  1. The #1 Contender bout for a shot at the American Title at next month’s Reckless Abandon event saw “Illusionist” Damian Adams defeat “Latin Lover” Chachi.
  2. The American Title was retained when current champion “Real Deal” Flex Freeman defeated “God’s Gift” Aaron Stride.
  3. In a #1 Contender bout for a shot at the IWF Heavyweight Championship at next month’s Reckless Abandon, “Hi-Definition” Chris Steeler defeated Kevin Knight.
  4. A special Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royal saw “Varsity” Marc Corino emerge the victor after throwing out “Yours Truly” Larry Lawson, with other participants being Bruising Bookworm, German Menace, “Bright Lights” Jarrett Foster, “Live Wire” Donte Arcade, “World Class” Karson Slade, and “Scrap Iron” Joey Golden.
  5. The IWF Heavyweight Title match pitting the current champion “The Mastodon” Franciz against “Dangerous” Danny E, with the Special Guest Referee “All-Star” Austin Williams, saw Franciz defeat Danny E to retain the title.
