CHIKARA: Young Lions Cup IX, IWF News & Events, AAW Results & Events

This weekend (27th and 28th August) CHIKARA presents their ninth-annual Young Lions Cup event at The Palmer Centre in Easton, PA, USA. Over two days there will not only be the Young Lions Cup action itself, but also a “12 Large: Summit” round-robin tournament, a thirty-wrestler “Countdown Showdown” match and more.

CHIKARA are also offering a one-time-only free entry to this event for female first-timers to CHIKARA with paid entry of others. As for CHIKARA’s next event afterwards, on the 17th September they will hold an event called Odyssey of the Twelfth Talisman at Brockton Boys & Girls Club, Brockton, MA, USA.

AAW Wrestling held their Reign Of Violence event this past Saturday 20th August at Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL, USA. The results are as follows: Louis Lyndon defeated Shane Hollister with a roll-up, Christian Faith defeated Austin Mannix with a roaring elbow, Keith Walker (accompanied by Truth Martini) defeated TD Thomas with a lariat, the match between Jimmy Jacobs and Mason Beck was ruled a no-contest when Ryan Boz interfered and put his hands on the referee.

The event also saw Dan Lawrence get attacked by the CLASH when he was Ryland Foxx’s guest on “Hollywood and Vine”, Darin Corbin and Marion Fontaine (accompanied by Joey Eastman) defeat CLASH (accompanied by Mena Libre) when Corbin superkicked Tommy Treznik and Fontaine rolled Treznik up, Awesome Threesome defeat Zero Gravity to retain the AAW Tag Team Titles thanks to two masked men attacking Zero Gravity, and MsChif defeat Sassy Stephanie with the Desecrator.

Finally, the event saw Silas Young (accompanied by Val) defeat Gregory Iron to retain the AAW Heavyweight Title with the PeeGe Waja Plunge, and Arik Cannon (accompanied by Dave Prazak) defeat Steve Corino with the Glimmering Warlock. AAW‘s next event is Defining Moment and will take place at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL, USA on the 30th September.

IWF (Independent Wrestling Federation) have their own event this coming Saturday 27th August, it is called Desperate Measures (Day 2) and will be held at the IWF Centre in Woodland Park, NJ, USA. Matches include a Special Grudge match for the IWF Heavyweight Championship, pitting current champion “Real Deal” Flex Freeman (accompanied by Kevin Knight) against IWF American Champion “German Menace” Kraig Stagg (accompanied by “Yours Truly” Larry Lawson).

Other matches are another Special Grudge match that sees “High-Definition” Chris Steeler take on “Self-Made” Travis Blake, an IWF Tag Team Championship match that has “All-Star” Austin Williams and “Jersey Jewel” Steven Sterling (accompanied by “The Gambler” Mr. Casino) going against the current champions, a team named “Glitz and Glamour”, which is comprised of “God’s Gift” Aaron Stride and “Bright Lights” Jarrett Foster.

Finally, there are also two singles matches – the first between “Scrap Iron” Joey Golden, and “The Master” Frank Scoleri, and the second between “Live Wire” Donte Arcade and Kasey Coresh. All this and there is still more as there will also be a special Fan-Fest before the event, with free autographs, special merchandise deals, and VIP raffles.

IWF will also be hosting a Pro Wrestling Fantasy Camp at the IWF Centre on the 24th September, allowing fans to get a taste of what it would be like to step in the ring, in a special one-day clinic with Tito Santana and “Young Stallion” Jim Powers.
