Raw Fusion: Woo Woo Woo, UK Know It

by Firefly on 9th November 2011

The 7th November 2011 episode of Monday Night Raw starts with John Cena’s music hitting and him making his way to the ring to a mixed reaction, before talking about how he knows why the crowd are upset and he says that he is upset too.

He talks about how things are happening in the WWE, how WrestleMania tickets went on sale on Saturday and are selling out fast, and that The Rock (pausing for a “Rocky” chant) couldn’t make it to this episode of Raw, but that he accepted his invitation to be his tag team partner at Survivor Series.

John Cena says that the reason that he is angry is that people aren’t talking about this episode of Raw, but rather next week’s episode as The Rock will be on it. He thinks instead that the focus should be on this episode, as it is the first time that WWE Raw has emanated from Liverpool in the UK, and that he will be teaming up with a “future Hall-Of-Famer” to face The Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth).

Apparently The Awesome Truth took that as their introduction as their music hits and they make their way out onto the stage and start walking down to the ring. The Miz plays the “really” game with the crowd as he doesn’t seem to believe the “future Hall-Of-Famer” claim as Cena is not teaming up with either himself or R-Truth.

He says that all he has been hearing about for the past week is how Cena embarrassed them, but he says that all it proved is that they will up the ante on the level of anguish that they will put Cena through at Survivor Series.

The Miz admits that Cena beat him last week, but he says that it doesn’t erase the fact that he and R-Truth beat Cena down two weeks ago, and also that The Miz did something that many others including Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Edge couldn’t do – pin Cena at WrestleMania, and in doing so retaining the WWE Championship.

He says that last week is the last time that Cena will ever embarrass them, and that in their tag team match, they will leave Cena with a lasting impression that he will never forget. R-Truth asks if he knows what it is like to have the “Little Jimmy’s” laughing at him.

Truth says that he wants them to keep their sense of humour, as nobody will be laughing after what happens at Survivor Series. He says that Cena will not be laughing after what happens on this episode of Raw either, and that it doesn’t matter who he has as his partner, as they are going to get got.

The Awesome Truth enter the ring and slowly start approaching John Cena, until Zack Ryder’s music hits and he this the ring, much to the approval of the crowd, prompting R-Truth and The Miz to get a few shots in at Cena before he can get there.

Zack Ryder and John Cena end up clearing the ring of The Awesome Truth, before they fist pump together and celebrate in the ring.

Next, Dolph Ziggler (accompanied by Vickie Guerrero) takes on John Morrison in a match which sees Morrison get the victory, when he kicks out of Ziggler’s pin attempt and turns it into one of his own for the 3-count.

After a video hyping Mason Ryan, Mason Ryan is pitted against JTG in a match which sees Ryan get the victory, when he applies a full-nelson and then turns it into a full-nelson slam for the 3-count.

After a video recapping the opening day of WrestleMania XXVIII (28) tickets going on sale in Miami, Florida, USA, and the crowd that turned up to purchase tickets and meet some of the Superstars and Divas who were there, Michael Cole informs us that Jim Ross is not there to take the “Michael Cole Challenge”. Cole claims that it is due to being detained when he wouldn’t give up the 3.5 ounces of BBQ sauce he carries with him at all times.

After a video recapping the events of last week involving CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio (click here for our 31st October Raw report), Justin Roberts introduces Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez to cheers from the crowd, and Alberto Del Rio goes against Kofi Kingston in a match which sees Del Rio get the victory, when he forces Kingston to tap out to the cross-armbreaker.

Afterwards, Del Rio decides to send a message and re-applies the cross-armbreaker to Kingston – until CM Punk’s music hits and he makes his way out onto the stage. Del Rio says that he didn’t think that Punk had the “cojones” to come out and face him like a man.

Del Rio doesn’t think that the actions of CM Punk last week against him fit John Laurinaitis’ criteria of asking him if he wanted a match, and calls Punk a coward for forcing him to agree. Alberto Del Rio gives Punk the opportunity to cancel the match, and says that if he doesn’t, he will force him to.

When asked by Del Rio if he will cancel the match at Survivor Series or not, CM Punk pretends to think about it for a short while, before giving his answer: no. Del Rio’s reaction is to attack Punk, but when he tries to apply the cross-armbreaker, Punk fights out of it and applies the Anaconda Vise.

Ricardo Rodriguez intervenes on Del Rio’s behalf by attacking Punk, which allows Del Rio to quickly make his escape. CM Punk instead turns his attention to Rodriguez and sends a message to Del Rio once again, by hitting Rodriguez with the GTS.

After a video recapping last week’s episode of Raw involving The Muppets and promoting the upcoming movie “The Muppets”, Jack Swagger (accompanied by Vickie Guerrero) takes on Santino Marella in a match which sees Swagger get the victory, when he forces Marella to tap out to the ankle-lock.

Next up, Jerry “The King” Lawler introduces Kelly Kelly to unveil her Maxim cover, and she talks about how she feels like she has grown up in front of the WWE Universe since her arrival in the WWE five years ago.

As she starts to thank the WWE Universe, Beth Phoenix’s music hits, and she and Natalya make their way to the ring, taunting Kelly and calling her a Barbie doll. Both women confront Kelly, but Eve Torres’ music hits and she runs to the ring along with Alicia Fox to tilt the odds in Kelly’s favour. Beth and Natalya decide to leave, which allows the three women in the ring to unveil Kelly’s Maxim cover.

Now, Vice President of Talent Relations and Interim General Manager of Raw John Laurinaitis introduces the man who he has resigned at the behest of Triple H, Kevin Nash. Nash makes his way out to the nWo theme music and shakes the hand of Laurinaitis before continuing on to the ring.

After a video recapping Nash’s attack on Triple H two weeks ago, Kevin Nash thanks Laurinaitis for bringing him back and says that people have been asking him why he did what he did. He says that he doesn’t owe anybody an explanation for anything he does, but he does owe one person an explanation – the person he attacked, Triple H.

He talks about how Triple H arrived in 1995 and how he was shadowing Killer Kowalski, and he says that in hindsight, he should have buried Triple H then. Nash says that Shawn Michaels sat at the monitor and watched Triple H’s match, saying that he had something and was funny, so Nash let him into their clique.

Kevin Nash says that Triple H won him over and they had something that is unusual in the wrestling business, with that something being a real friendship, and he says that he was at Triple H’s wedding.

He talks about how he got a great response at the Royal Rumble and as a result called Triple H about “putting the band back together”, but says that not only did he get an answer of “no”, but he didn’t even get a response, so Triple H betrayed him and that without him, Triple H is nothing.

Nash says that in his eyes Triple H is still the measuring stick in the WWE, but to give himself a “has-been/Legends” contract, as he’s still got it and the best there is, and that on any given night, he can become a World Champion.

He talks about how he hit Triple H with the sledgehammer and how it looked good, and how he decided to do it again, and he says that as far as he is concerned, he just showed him that is “how you play the game”.

After a video hyping Brodus Clay, John Laurinaitis and David Otunga are shown talking backstage, and Otunga points out that Clay was supposed to début on this episode of Raw. Laurinaitis says that he can’t waste someone of Clay’s talents in Liverpool, and that he needs to début in front of a more sophisticated audience like America.

CM Punk interrupts and says that Laurinaitis doesn’t know anything about what the audience wants, and though he doesn’t want anything, but tells him that he has a nice tie, and a good job at attempting to get Punk to change his mind about the match at Survivor Series.

He says that the match will happen, and that he will be the new WWE Champion. Turning his attention to Otunga, he asks if he has something to say, to which Otunga says that he doesn’t see the WWE Champion as someone who works at a gas station.

Punk gives a short laugh, before saying that it is almost as corny as “what would you like sir, regular or unleaded?” as he then starts to attack Otunga. Unfortunately for CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio makes his presence known, throwing Punk through a nearby table and then attacking him until he is forcefully pulled away by referees.

Back in the arena, The Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) is pitted against John Cena and Zack Ryder in a match which sees The Miz get the victory for his team, when he kicks John Cena and gets the 3-count thanks to R-Truth holding the leg of Cena without the referee noticing, as it apparently renders Cena unable to kick out.
