TNA Signs Training & Development Deal With OVW

by Firefly on 9th November 2011

TNA have announced that they have entered into an exclusive relationship with Ohio Valley Wrestling as a training and developmental facility for their current and future stars.

OVW was used as the official developmental facility for the WWE until they decided to end the relationship in 2008 and move their contracted developmental talent to Florida Championship Wrestling.

This can only be a good thing for wrestlers looking to get noticed as this gives them an additional avenue of doing so, however it does not mean that it is the only way, and it doesn’t mean that it is only TNA that will benefit either.

Much like they haven’t in the past, TNA and WWE are unlikely to limit themselves to only their official developmental facilities for finding talent. Instead they are likely to be scouting talent in as many places as they can, including independent wrestling promotions such as Ring Of Honor (who themselves may also keep an eye on the talent at OVW) and the many other smaller promotions that exist, not to mention talent recommendations from others.
