SD Fusion: Synthetic Is Pathetic

by Firefly on 18th December 2011

The 16th December 2011 episode of Friday Night SmackDown! starts with Josh Mathews introducing Booker T and interviewing him about his match against Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Championship on this Sunday’s TLC Pay-Per-View.

Booker T talks about how he didn’t want this, but that it happened because Rhodes decided that he wanted to make a name for himself using Booker T, and he says that isn’t going to happen and that he will give Rhodes the worst beating he’s ever received.

Cody Rhodes’ music hits and he decides to make his way to the ring as he talks about how if this was a movie, Booker T would win the match and everything would go well for him, but that it isn’t a movie, and that the reality will be that Booker T will fall to him.

Rhodes talks about how Booker T has interfered in his last two matches against Daniel Bryan, so he went to Teddy Long and got him to agree that if Booker interferes in his upcoming match with Bryan, then the match on Sunday will be off.

Now, Cody Rhodes takes on Daniel Bryan in a match which sees Rhodes get the victory, when he hits Bryan with Cross-Rhodes for the 3-count.

After a video hyping Alicia Fox, Alicia Fox is pitted against Natalya in a match which sees Alicia get the victory, when she rolls up Natalya in a small package for the 3-count. Afterwards, with a handful of of Natalya’s hair extensions in her hand as Natalya sits on the outside of the ring in disbelief, Alicia calls her “so synthetic, it’s pathetic” and suggests that she make her way to the back and have a cry of her own, as she just got outfoxed.

Natalya re-enters the ring and attempts to attack Alicia, but Alicia instead catches her kick, before knocking her down and following it up with a flip-legdrop.

After hyping the airing of Tribute To The Troops, and a video recapping the 2011 Slammy Awards episode of Monday Night Raw (click here for our Raw report), an interaction between Jack Swagger and Mark Henry sees Henry tell Swagger that he wants him to hurt The Big Show in his match against him like Show hurt Henry, and that if he does so, he will be first in line for a World Heavyweight Championship match with Henry – Swagger says that he will do it, but for himself not Mark Henry.

After a video recapping the events involving Mark Henry and The Big Show leading to their match on Sunday and hyping it, The Usos go against Primo and Epico (accompanied by Rosa Mendes) in a tag team match which sees Primo get the victory for his team, when he takes advantage of the distraction provided by Rosa and knocks Jey Uso from the top rope and follows it up with a backstabber for the 3-count.

Next up, Jack Swagger (accompanied by Vickie Guerrero) takes on The Big Show in a match which sees Mark Henry watch the match from a seat at the bottom of the ramp, and which also sees Show get the victory, when Show manages to escape Swagger’s ankle lock, and follow it up by hitting Swagger with the Weapon of Mass Destruction for the 3-count.

Afterwards, The Big Show sends a message to the watching Mark Henry, as he grabs Swagger by the throat and shoves him over the ropes and out of the ring with one arm. Not to be left out, Henry sends his own message by hitting Swagger with a steel chair to the back, that he then follows up with a steel chair to the back of one of the cameramen.

After an interaction between Zack Ryder and Randy Orton about their tag team match later on, which sees Orton say that he and Ryder aren’t on the same page, but when asked by Ryder “maybe” are in the same book, Heath Slater is pitted against Ted DiBiase in a match which sees DiBiase get the victory, when he hits Slater with Dream Street for the 3-count.

Afterwards, DiBiase is attacked by Jinder Mahal, who then applies the camel clutch until Teddy Long’s music hits and he makes his way out onto the stage. Long says that if Mahal wants to fight so badly, then he has an opponent that he can take all that aggression out on and whom he has unfinished business with since Monday – that someone is Sheamus, and the match will be right now.

The match sees Sheamus get the victory, when he hits Mahal with the Brogue Kick for the 3-count.

Another video recaps the events of Raw including Kane’s “resurrection” and subsequent chokeslam of John Cena, and Triple H’s message to Kevin Nash ahead of their match on Sunday at TLC.

After a video hyping Wade Barrett, and another mysterious video hyping the return of somebody on the 2nd January 2012, Randy Orton and Zack Ryder go against Wade Barrett and Dolph Ziggler (accompanied by Vickie Guerrero) in a match which sees Orton get the victory for his team, when he avoids the fame-asser attempt by Ziggler, and hits him with an RKO for the 3-count.

Afterwards, Wade Barrett and Randy Orton stare each other down from their respective positions as SmackDown! goes off the air.
