WWE Divas Championship Title Match

Natalya vs. Michelle McCool

The much anticipated match to crown the WWE Divas championship match will finally be decided tonight. If you remember, Natalya and McCool both won separate Wish Upon A Star matches to qualify for the match to crown a new WWE Divas Champion. Ever since Natalya won her qualifying match, I figured she would be crowned champion. It took WWE a while to find her an opponent, which also makes me think Natalya walks away with the championship tonight. I think they really like Natalya, not just as a diva, but as a great women wrestler. I fully expect Natalya to win in a close match with a sharpshooter.

Winner: NEW WWE Divas Champion – Natalya

WWE Tag Team Championship – Fatal Four Way Title Match

John Morrison & The Miz (c) vs. Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder vs. Jesse & Festus

The barely defended championships are finally on the line tonight in this Fatal Four Way. Pretty much every team on Smackdown is taking place in this match. John Morrison and The Miz have held the titles since November of last year and really haven’t had any true competition. They have currently been engaged in a minor feud against the father-son tag team of Finlay & Hornswoggle, whom they successfully defended their tag team titles against at Night of Champions. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder really haven’t been in action that much up until recent weeks were they have had a minor feud with Jesse & Festus. I guess they were thrown into the match to add a different flavor to the match that is really a Miz & Morrison vs. Finlay & Hornswoggle match. What I mean by that is, I don’t expect either team of Jesse & Festus or Hawkins & Ryder walking out of tonight champions. Their were rumors of Finlay & Hornswoggle taking the tag team titles at Night of Champions and there are reasons for me to believe they will win tonight. As much as I want to go with Finlay and Hornswoggle, I have to go with Miz & Morrison to win and retain the titles.

Winner: WWE Tag Team Champions – The Miz & John Morrison

WWE United States Championship Title Match

Matt Hardy (c) vs. “The Gold Standard” Shelton Benjamin

This is another rare occasion for a PPV because the United States Championship is on the line. Matt Hardy has had a rather boring reign as WWE United States Champion after defeating Montel Vontavious Porter. Matt has barely defended the title and tonight will be his fourth defense as champion. I like Shelton Benjamin and think he deserves this match. I think Benjamin is a very talented superstar in much need of an opportunity. This may be it tonight. As much as I want Benjamin to win the title tonight and go on and do different things with it, I don’t see it happening. Matt is way to over with the fans right now for some unknown reason and they just threw the match together on this past week with no real feud to speak of or build up to the match. This means, this is a match to pretty much take up time on the card. Benjamin also seems to be in the doghouse backstage so, I honestly don’t see Benjamin winning tonight. Expect Matt to win a clean match with a Twist of Fate.

Winner: WWE United States Champion – Matt Hardy

New York City Parking Lot Brawl

John Cena vs. John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL)

When is this Cena-JBL feud ever going to end? One thing I hate more than anything is when WWE carries on the same boring feuds for too long. It gets old. One thing I like more than anything is fresh and original matchups and they definitely aren’t giving it to me hear. They have faced each other five other times before in almost every type of match you can think of and it has been the same result every time, John Cena comes out on top. They have tried to add some new flavor to the match, with whatever the hell a “New York City Parking Lot Brawl” is. This has been a horrible set up to this match after the whole “murder attempt” angle they tried to pull off on Raw. Hopefully this is the end of this feud after tonight. You wont be too surprised by the outcome tonight, expect John Cena to win (like always) and hopefully bury this feud.

Winner: John Cena

Grudge Match

“Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels vs. “Y2J” Chris Jericho w/ Lance Cade

This has been a great build up to the match and is has been a match long in the making. This match has been set up for months and has never really been carried out. This is how a feud should be made. This has been one of the biggest and most hyped up bouts since Wrestlemania. It is a fresh match up between two great wrestlers. I expect this match to steal the show tonight and be the match of the night. The one thing WWE cannot do is carry this on after the night is over regardless of the outcome become is will make the feud to stale unless it sets up a Michaels-Cade match. I have been pretty tossed up on who I think will win tonight. Jericho really hasn’t gotten the upper hand on HBK during this feud at all and would make perfect sense for Y2J to win the match with the help of Lance Cade, who will be in his corner tonight and could eventually set up a feud between those two. After I have thought about it long and hard, I don’t see HBK jobbing tonight, regardless of outside interference. I expect HBK wins, even with interference from Cade. Hopefully they don’t pull a dumb finish, which I am thinking, like a DQ finish, to carry on the feud; this should be a great match.

 Winner: “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels

 ECW Championship Match Title Match

“World Strongest Man” Mark Henry (c) w/Tony Atlas vs. Tommy Dreamer w/ Colin Delaney

Why this match is on the card is beyond me. No way in hell Tommy Dreamer is going to beat Mark Henry for the title tonight, none. This isn’t even worthy of a main event on ECW, none the less, a PPV match. No one in that arena tonight or anyone viewing tonight’s PPV at home believes Tommy Dreamer is going to win the match. Dreamer isn’t the same guy he was with the original ECW. He is the biggest jobber on ECW right now. This is the classic squash match where Dreamer will be defeated rather easily. If WWE was smart, they would pull a shocker and have Dreamer surprise everyone and pull of the victory but WWE isn’t that smart. This is the biggest no brainer for me on the night. Mark Henry wins with ease, after a Worlds Strongest Slam.

Winner: ECW Champion – “Worlds Strongest Man” Mark Henry

World Heavyweight Championship Title Match

C.M. Punk (c) vs. “The Animal” Batista

Although the HBK/Y2J match may be the match of the night, I guarantee this is the most anticipated match of the night. I don’t believe I am the only one intrigued by this match. This is so original and fresh which makes me excited. No one has ever really seen this match not counting the Raw dark match. It is going to be very intriguing to see how WWE goes about this match tonight. I don’t see either losing tonight really. C.M. Punk has helped lit a fire under Raw, bringing the ratings way up on Raw since he has been champion. C.M. Punk is a huge fan favorite. It would look very apparent Batista is going to win the match tonight as a big established star who is a former World Champion. I just don’t think they want to end this C.M. Punk reign so soon with the ratings as high as they are but I don’t know how they can clearly have Punk win straight up tonight. I just don’t see Batista jobbing to C.M. Punk tonight, so if Punk wins, it won’t be a straight up win. I expect Kane to interfere in the match, setting something up with either Punk or Batista for Summerslam. This may be the hardest prediction of the night but. I don’t think they are ready to take the strap off of Punk, so Punk wins but not clean. Either it will be a DQ finish or Punk with the pin after outside interference.

Winner: World Champion – C.M. Punk

WWE Championship Title Match

Triple H (c) vs. Edge

I really don’t know how this is going to happen after the rumors of The Undertaker coming back and facing off with Edge for Summerslam since Taker & HHH will not end up on the same show. Plus, if HHH beats Edge and Taker beings the feud back with Edge, HHH really doesn’t have anyone else to have a title feud with besides the Big Show. I really don’t know how this is going to work. This is one of the toughest ones of the night too. I am going to go with Triple H getting the win tonight after outside interference from either The Undertaker or Vickie. I have a great idea for Takers return as well. Vickie could bring him back to the WWE to get back at Edge, sounds good to me. I think that is what is going to happen, even as soon as tonight.

Winner: WWE Champion – Triple H
