PPV Fusion: Royal Rumble 2017

The 2017 WWE Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View starts with a video recapping moments in Royal Rumble history along with hyping the matches to come later on in the night, followed by Bayley taking on Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship in a match to kick things off.

The match sees Charlotte get the victory and retain her title, when she hits Bayley with a Natural Selection on the ring apron and pushes her further into the ring before covering her for the 3-count.

After a video hyping the last five episodes of Holy Foley being available immediately following Royal Rumble on the WWE Network, a video hyping new mobile (Android and iOS) game WWE Champions, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Kevin Owens (accompanied by Chris Jericho) is pitted against Roman Reigns in a No Disqualification match for the WWE Universal Championship that has the added stipulation of Jericho being suspended above the ring in a shark cage.

Before Jericho enters the shark cage and the match gets officially started, Owens and Jericho attack Reigns until he is able to turn the tables and throw Chris Jericho into the shark cage, at which point the referee locks Jericho in and the shark cage is raised above the ring before he then rings the bell to officially start the match.

The match sees Owens get the victory and retain his title, when Braun Strowman interferes and puts Reigns through a table, before Owens crawls over the downed Reigns and covers him for the 3-count.

After a KFC commercial involving Enzo Amore and Big Cass, a video recapping 15 out of 30 Royal Rumble facts, an interaction backstage involving Stephanie McMahon, Mick Foley, Shane McMahon, Daniel Bryan, Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Rich Swann goes against Neville in a match for the Cruiserweight Championship.

The match sees Neville get the victory, when he applies a Regal Stretch to Swann and leaves him with no other option but to tap out, for Neville to become the new Cruiserweight Champion.

After a VUDU commercial involving “The New Day” Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, a video hyping that WrestleMania is 63 days away, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, AJ Styles takes on John Cena in a match for the WWE Championship.

The match sees Cena get the victory, when he hits Styles with two Attitude Adjustments for the 3-count to become the new WWE Champion.

After a video promoting the WWE Network, another video hyping the last five episodes of Holy Foley, a video hyping the next WWE Pay-Per-View, the SmackDown-exclusive Elimination Chamber in two weeks, and a video recapping Seth Rollins calling out Triple H at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio and its aftermath, Jerry “The King” Lawler joins commentary ahead of the Royal Rumble match.

After a video recapping the remaining 15 out of 30 Royal Rumble facts, and the announcers informing us that next year’s Royal Rumble will take place on 28th January 2018 in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, USA), it’s time for the Royal Rumble match.

The first entrant is revealed to be Big Cass (accompanied by Enzo Amore), with Chris Jericho being the second. The match sees Randy Orton get the victory, when he counters Roman Reigns’ spear with an RKO before throwing him over the top rope toe be the last person remaining in the ring and thus declared the winner.

Orton celebrates in the ring, as Royal Rumble goes off the air.
