by Firefly on 22nd September 2014

The 2014 WWE Night Of Champions Pay-Per-View starts with a video hyping the matches to take place later on, followed by “The Usos” Jimmy and Jey Uso taking on Goldust and Stardust for the WWE Tag Team Championship to kick things off.

The match sees Stardust get the victory, when he counters a splash attempt from an Uso and rolls him up for the 3-count for his team to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

After Byron Saxton interviews Dolph Ziggler and R-Ziggler backstage about Ziggler’s upcoming match with The Miz, Sheamus is pitted against Cesaro for the United States Championship in a match which sees Sheamus get the victory to retain his title, when he hits Cesaro with a Brogue Kick for the 3-count.

After a video hyping Sting in WWE 2K15 as a Pre-Order bonus, an interaction backstage involving The Big Show and Mark Henry, and members of the band “Florida Georgia Line” join commentary for the upcoming match, The Miz (accompanied by Damien Mizdow) goes against Dolph Ziggler (accompanied by R-Ziggler) in a match for the Intercontinental Championship.

The match sees The Miz get the victory, when he rolls up Ziggler and holds onto the tights for the 3-count to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

After talking about and showing videos and audio regarding Roman Reigns’ emergency surgery that is expected to keep him out of action for several months, and also consequently meaning that the Night Of Champions match against Seth Rollins won’t go ahead, “Mr. Money In The Bank” Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring.

Rollins talks about how things changed for Reigns so quickly and claims that emergency surgery is no reason for their match to not go ahead, so he offers ten seconds for Reigns to appear and face him, otherwise he will accept Reigns’ forfeit.

The referee rings the bell at Rollins request and counts to ten, ringing the bell again and declaring Rollins the victor as a result of a forfeit. Rollins insults Reigns and says that he left him having to rectify the situation, so as an opportunist he issues an open challenge to anybody in the locker room.

Nobody appears to be answering for a while, when the arrival of a taxi is shown on the titantron and Dean Ambrose gets out of it, making a bee-line for Rollins and fighting him through the crowd until security forcibly separate them and take Ambrose away after tying his hands behind his back.

After checking in with the Night Of Champions Panel (comprised of Renee Young, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, The Big Show and Alex Riley) for their thoughts on the matches so far and still to come, Mark Henry takes on Rusev (accompanied by Lana), with Lilian Garcia singing the US National Anthem after Henry has made his way to the ring.

The match sees Rusev get the victory, when he applies The Accolade to Henry and Henry has no other choice but to tap out.

After a WWE.com video with Brock Lesnar talking about their upcoming match and a video recapping the events leading to the upcoming match between Chris Jericho and Randy Orton, Chris Jericho is pitted against Randy Orton in a match which sees Orton get the victory, when he counters Jericho’s dive from the turnbuckle by catching him with an RKO for the 3-count.

After a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming Divas match, and Byron Saxton interviews Brie Bella about her thoughts on the upcoming Divas match, AJ Lee, Nikki Bella and Paige go against each other in a Triple Threat match for the Divas Championship.

The match sees AJ get the victory, when she applies the Black Widow to Paige and despite Paige’s attempts at countering, she is unable to get out of it and is forced to tap out, making AJ the new Divas Champion.

After showing statistics of the SummerSlam match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar, checking in with the Night Of Champions Panel for their thoughts on the upcoming match, and a video recapping the events that led to the upcoming match, Brock Lesnar (accompanied by Paul Heyman) takes on John Cena in a match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The match sees John Cena get the victory but Lesnar retain his title, when Seth Rollins appears and attacks Cena with the Money In The Bank briefcase after Cena hits his fourth Attitude Adjustment of the match and covers Lesnar, which prompts the referee to call for the bell and a disqualification.

Rollins hits Lesnar with a curb stomp and hands his briefcase to the referee as Justin Roberts announces that Rollins is cashing in his Money In The Bank contract. Before the bell can ring to officially start the match however, Cena attacks Rollins to bail back out up the ramp.

Lesnar takes advantage of Cena’s distraction by grabbing him and hitting him with an F-5. Replays are shown before Lesnar and Heyman walk back through the curtain, as the PPV goes off the air.
